Day 393: I have 63 Slaves Working for Me – and You?

I have just taken a test to discover my ‘Slavery footprint‘ – not something one considers daily as we go about our lives missing out the undeniable truth that, as long as we participate in a system that is abusive and doesn’t take the well-being of all into considerations, we are ‘de facto’ the Employers of Slaves.

Our direct participation is causing problems on the other side of the equation, the race for ever lower prices, bargain huntings, outlets, as our wages go down, as our purchasing power goes down and we do nothing about it, either because we have not yet invested the time to understand how it all works or because we are too tired or just too lazy to become involved in changing this system for all, someone on the production line has to give up money we are no longer willing or able to pay into a product.

One simple point about production is that when prices are low, impossibly low in fact, there must be something missing in the cost calculation, you can bet that the bonuses for those on top are counted for, the raw materials must be counted for, packaging and shipment, check, so the only thing left that we can use to diminish prices is to diminish wages, oh wait, better, get slaves so they have no wage at all.

This is basically how we are driving this world into a state of despair, we hear about the Fast Food workers whose wages are not fit for a living, that is certainly unacceptable, obviously though these workers and many more, who don’t have enough to get by, will be looking for the cheapest products available, and we can bet, products in which there is not a built-in ‘living wage’ for those that manufactured them and when they are ridiculously low then we must know someone is not been paid at all, because so far, in our ludicrous management models, we seem to have come up only with this one solution as the ultimate cost saving grace, to cut wages at the bottom.

We are about to face another problem, goods manufacturers who are now sick and tired to face the wrath of those working that don’t make enough to live -and dare complaining about it-, are planning to lay them off and replace them with technology, we can’t blame them, because we have a systemic problem here that we need to address and from their high up position, close to the sky, their view is clouded by their wealth, in a sort of Marie Antoinette way, who told the people who complained they could not eat bread, to eat croissants instead.

Maybe this is why we still read in the news people like the Koch brothers saying that The Poor have it too easy and they should stop complaining.

So, how are The Poor having it too easy, may I ask?

Poverty is a condition that refers to the general dearth of material possessions or money that prevents people from having access to basic human needs such as food, water, sanitation, clothing, shelter, health care, and education. It is a sad fact of life that in the richest nation in the history of the world, an inordinately high number of Americans live in abject poverty and do not have the means to provide their families with fundamentally basic needs of food, shelter, or healthcare.

This must sound like an exciting way to live and bestow on others, maybe as I said the problem is that the rich who are drafting policies on how we should manage wealth, on who should be squeezed by taxes while some hide their money in fiscal paradises, on how we should spend public money, giving preference to ‘Defense Programs’ that aim to arm people that then go round the world bullying those that did not have the capacity to invest equally in ‘defending themselves’, instead of investing in public well-fare and public well-being, are making the rules alone -and this is no longer acceptable.

On the other hand who left them in charge? Today I read a comment about an Italian guy that joined a meet up of the Movement 5 Star, a party that is aiming to reform the system, who was amazed at how people are organizing themselves, rewriting Laws and participating in this change that we will have to bring about from the bottom up, he concluded by stating ‘where was I when those people were working for change – enough with the fuckitol attitude, let’s get involved’ and this is the point.

It is out lack of involvement that allows the world to function as it does, Greed is a disease, we have people at the helm who are diseased as in sick and need our support to steer the world in the right direction.

This will not happen by praying or hoping by the way, it requires our direct involvement.

Today I discovered I very likely have 63 slaves working for me in the world? How?
Count everything we have that is the product of slavery somewhere in the world, gold, precious stones, electronics, cotton, food, you can just about put anything in the list because almost everything is manufactured in Third World Countries where wages are pathetic and so are human living standards.

So, how long can we accept such a world, how long can we pretend that we are not participating in the worst of the worse just because slavery is kept away from our eyes, without considering the economic slavery we have to live with day in and day out that we accept without even raising an eyebrow, I would say it’s plenty enough.

We have worked out a minor change to the system that would guarantee that this system can set on a self correction course, it is obvious that guaranteeing a living to All must become a non negotiable point as in a Basic Human Right, the rest can be adjusted as we go, as the Elite falls from Grace once the bottom gives in – just because they failed to consider that they were sitting ON those at the bottom to reach the sky from which they have become unable to stay in touch with the reality of many.

It is not just Charles Koch, another wealthy CEO, Bud Konheim, said just last month that “We’ve got a country that the poverty level is wealth in 99% of the rest of the world, so we’re talking about woe is me, woe is us, woe is this. The guy that’s making, oh my God, he’s making $35,000 a year, why don’t we try that out in India or some countries we can’t even name. China, anyplace, the guy is wealthy.

First, it is important to note that poverty, at least relative poverty, is generally defined by reputable economists contextually as economic inequality in the location or society in which people live, and in that context, it is likely that more than half of the American population is living in poverty. Charles Koch completely disagrees and last year his foundation produced a commercial stating that a family earning $34,000 annually are part of the richest one-percent in the world; especially when compared to developing third world nations and countries such as China and India where the majority of the population lives in absolute squalor.

If the measure of poverty in America was not based on economic necessities for living standards during the 1950s and 1960s and applied to living costs today, the federal poverty level would exceed three times the current levels meaning that over half the nation is living below poverty.

Imagine that, some did not notice that Americans are no longer in 1950/1960 and they are NOT living in China or any other Third World Country.

Those seem pretty big point to miss out in a speech, unless the speech was tailor-made to prove a point that cannot be proven in any way, because there is the Wonderland of the Rich and then there is the Reality of those that know that they don’t have enough to cover their basic needs – they don’t need to think about it, they just need to see the empty wallet and be sure they are not making that up.

We need a solution that will come swiftly and with the least possible resistance, some should realize soon that the system is unsustainable even for the rich and that giving those at the bottom a solid living will guarantee their ability to sit on top – to sit ON them in fact and prevent them from fading away, out of the picture and have the top tumbling down like the house of cards it is.

We have designed such solution, it is called a Living Income Guaranteed, it will make sure that every single person on the planet is supported and enabled to access their Human Right to LIVE (amazing we are still at the stage to have to spell out that Living itself should be a human right), it will come in waves as each country embraces this simple solution, so wherever you are, consider getting involved, sponsor it, take it all the way to Parliament, have it voted, do whatever you can within your capacity to bring it about because it will not only solve the problem of a living, it will solve the violence and anger that is boiling up and that will come to a point where no one will have enough ground to stop, we better stop it now through bringing about A Solution.

You can check out how many Slaves work for you Here, see the magnitude of the problematic world we live in, take responsibility for the role we play and then do your part to change it to a world that works for All. Join us.

Day 392: Charity, Scavengers and a Living Income Guaranteed

On the topic the Daily Mail wrote yesterday

Retailers are being warned to lock their bins after growing gangs of scavengers have been caught rooting through rubbish to grab discarded items they can sell or eat.

Groups have been secretly filmed rifling through refuse in Gloucester for the last two months, stealing furniture, clothes and food on a weekly basis.

Footage shows how they take it in turns to go through industrial dustbins for anything of worth and in the last few weeks have salvaged food scraps, computer monitors, and even a video player.

But they have been warned they could face up to seven years in prison for theft if they are caught in the act.

Is there something obviously wrong with this article, like for example the attempt to criminalize people who are taking out stuff from RUBBISH BINS which are meant to dispose of things some no longer want?

How far are we pushing the I’Deal of Private Property, to the rubbish point? What about the ashes resulting from the burnt trash of each one of us, why are they not given back to us if they are still our property? Why isn’t anyone complaining about that, why is it ok that the incinerators appropriate themselves of our rubbish but not people who are in no position to buy stuff they or their families need or in the position to feed themselves?

Aren’t we spending public money in the millions for recycling but we resent and condemn recycling that comes for free – what is wrong with us – really?

Not to mention a Charity Shop that said:

Charity shops were quick to defend the way they handle their waste.

James Preece, area retail manager for YMCA, said: ‘The bins in the photographs do not belong to our YMCA shop. We keep our bins securely locked up during the week and they are only put out on collection days.’

Why is that?
Do we need to give Charity out in an accounted way so we can justify the existence and value of the Business of Charity?
I think we should be ashamed that we have people in such condition and that in no way we can claim that rubbish is ‘private property’ that can award up to seven years of jail time, if I trash something it means I no longer want it or need it and I have disposed of it, now it’s public property, have the trash collectors complained that their trash is diminished? Who is this harming if not our sense of social justice that has long gone down the drain?
I am really aghast at this news, if we are so petty as to want to hold on to our trash, we must have reached the limit of how low we will go to exclude others from some relief, others who may be, wrongly so, too ashamed to walk into a Charity shop and ask for a hand out and rather look into the rubbish bin to have a sense of having ‘found’ what they need, having participated in bettering their situation vs accepting to be given in ‘Charity’ what should be given to all as a Human Right – a Dignified Life.
It’s time we rethink this world which is the obvious result of some serious damaged mental processes we all have been participating with, we have a Proposal, it’s called a #livingincomeguaranteed, because Life should be guaranteed to All as Equal shareholders of this Planet and the Right to Live, it can’t be earned or hoped for, it has to be a given, this will heal some of the wrongdoings we have done, like having people result to scavenging into rubbish bins that we plan to keep locked away -while we decide if it’s viable to send them to prison for 7 years – because they try to have themselves a Life, just as we do thanks to the Money that circulates in our world due to our social, geographical, ethnic or hereditary position -and take for granted.
Participate, read about it, share it with others, giving a Life to All will result in a better world for everyone involved and that is by no means a Small Thing.

Day 390: Would you like French Fries with Your World War III ?

In the past few weeks in the news much disinformation designed to fire up our hearts in favour of a possible war (intervention/self-defence/ threat prevention -anyone?) has been going on.

First was Crimea, a hard to pass on opportunity to stir up some trouble and now is Iran – what this spells out to me personally is how desperate this system is to go to war, mind you, not a minor hit and run, no, a long miserable one that will take down half the world and kill billions of people.

The time is ripe, we have done it before, during time of great recessions we sought the opportunity to revamp the economy by starting a war – insane? Yes.  A lesson we learned? Hopefully
A danger ahead? Possibly, if we don’t see through what is going on and take about 100 steps back.

We are now in the nuclear era, led by some who are either too senile and therefore unconcerned of the consequences of what they will lave behind, being with one foot in the grave already, or too greedy to wait to pile up trillions at their regular everyday pace – see the Koch brothers who have seen their assets grow at the rate of 30 million dollars per hour based on a 40 hour/week calculation, obviously not enough.

Crimea was kept under the tight grip of Putin who managed to avoid the escalating of the situation into international interference aka before the USA felt they should be the ones bringing Democracy to Crimea – since by now we are all aware of the cost of US Democracy around the world and finally the statement – We’ll bring Democracy to you – is rightly perceived more as a threat than a promise.

We are left with the Middle East, ah, thanks god for the Middle East, if it were not for the warmongering Israel where could we hope to start another world conflict? It would be hard to concoct a perfect situation such as that of Israel, living in fear that some may question the original point of its creation and dispossess them of what they took unjustly, illegally one could say, by force and abuse – but we can’t say this because they have his-story, the one they wrote themselves and reinforce every year at the sound of billions of dollars in the mind of as many people as they can reach with all the Holocaust remembrance days, designed for the purpose of highlighting that they are entitled to a restitution for their losses (the contested 6 millions number) – even though over 70 millions died in world war II that were Non Jews and hence, obviously, of a lesser value on the human trading floor.

I want to say to both the Israelis people and the Palestinian people just one thing, chapeau, because the Zionist governments that have succeeded at the helm of Israel would have liked much more involvement in wars and offensives that did not take place because of the people saying ‘Not in My Name‘ , because of people who had the courage to refuse and state that

participating in directives that were only aimed at destroying human lives in the name of self-defence, people who realized that their common bereavement could become the ground on which they could build a different future like ‘The Parents Circle‘ whose story really touched my heart, where people got together to support each other for their losses across an imaginary border, designed to divide us and make us believe we are different and not striving for the same better lives for ourselves and our family, all those things show that we have the power to say no, we don’t have to go along with Nazi, Zionist, or any other agenda aimed at destroying some for the upliftment of others, instead we can reach out to each other and hold each other in honour, work together to create a world that works for all, design a system of care, to take care of each other and end all wars.

We have envisioned a solution to end all wars through a #living income guaranteed, many people are now enticed if not forced to join the army and many more might be, as our economic situation worsen due to some holding the keys to the wellbeing of humanity and not being willing to let go, but what we forgot is that we were always the power, the power to get involved and stand for a different Life that would be inclusive of all living beings and not exclusive, that would consider that Life is the true treasure we have externalized in meaningless desires as we accepted the prompting of a system designed to consume everything on its wake, ourselves included.

To do this we’ll have to end all wars inside of ourselves, we will have to find the strength to forgive ourselves and everyone for how we have participated in this world, it’s not impossible, in fact it’s mandatory that we start considering how to go about doing just that, because peace can only come when everyone ends all claims of restitution and accepts that this is where we are, sets the target to where we want to be and in mutual cooperation moves toward the end result we seek.

A world of peace is in our reach, we have to stop listening to warmongering propaganda and see the world for what it is at the moment, a broken ensemble of abuses that span from dishonesty to violence and horrific lives and see how we can heal together, if we gave a guaranteed living to everyone, regardless of their creed, race, gender or geographical positioning, who would need to go to war for ‘a living’ – and what an oxymoron ? No one.
And if those that insists wars are good ideas so those on top can make another truck load of money, will be forced into either reviewing their stand and stop those WarGames for the sake of profit or be reformed into people who stop seeking value in Death, specifically in the Death of Others, vs recognizing the equal value of All in/as Life.

If you no longer want any wars fought in your name, consider the solution of freeing everyone from the need to survive and to those that keep lying and demand the engagement into war for profit or power and try to destitute your stand by calling you ‘diminishing’ names to prompt your Ego and Pride into foolish decisions, we will have the Freedom to say NO, not in my name, not now, not again, not ever more, or, as the Irish would say ‘just fack off’.
That will do too.

A Living Income Guaranteed has no gender, religious, ethnic, colour or national boundaries, it is a program to uplift Humanity and you can be a part of it, you only need to want a better Life for All and that is not too much to ask.
Join us.

What you should know:

Iran vs Israel: What The Media Wants You To Forget

By Michael Rivero

The corporate media have been given their orders to throw the focus back on to Iran.

Here is a recap of what they are trying to make you forget.

1. In 2009, Rose Gottemoeller, an assistant secretary of state and Washington’s chief nuclear arms negotiator, asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty. Israel refused.

2. In 2009. the United Nations passed a resolution calling on Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. The UN General Assembly passed a similar resolution in 2012 calling for inspections. Israel refused.

3. The IAEA asked Israel to sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and to submit to inspections. Israel refused.

4. Iran’s formal notification to the IAEA of the planned construction of the backup fuel-rod facility underscores that Iran is playing by the rules of the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty which Iran has signed.

5. Iran allows IAEA inspections of all its facilities.

6. Contrary to face-saving claims, it appears that the US and Israel were both caught off guard by Iran’s announcement of a planned underground (to avoid being bombed) enrichment facility. The reasoning is simple. Had the US or Israel announced the existence of he new facility before Iran’s notified the IAEA, it would have put Iran on the defensive. As it is now, the US and Israel seem to be playing catch up, casting doubt on the veracity of Israel’s claims to “know” that Iran is a nuclear threat.

7. The IAEA and all 16 United States Intelligence Agencies are unanimous in agreement that Iran is not building and does not possess nuclear weapons.

8. In 1986, Mordachai Vanunu blew the whistle and provided photographs showing Israel’s clandestine nuclear weapons factory underneath the reactor at Dimona.

9. Israel made the same accusations against Iraq that it is making against Iran, leading up to Israel’s bombing of the power station at Osirik. Following the invasion of 2003, international experts examined the ruins of the power station at Osirik and found no evidence of a clandestine weapons factory in the rubble.

10. The United Nations has just released the Goldstone Report, a scathing report which accuses Israel of 37 specific war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza earlier this year. Israel has denounced the report as “Anti-Semitic (even though Judge Goldstone is himself Jewish), and the United States will block the report from being referred to the War Crimes Tribunal at the Hague, thereby making the US Government an accessory after-the-fact.

11. Recently revealed documents prove not only that Israel has nuclear weapos, but actually tried to sell some to Apartheid South Africa. Who else Israel approached to sell nuclear weapons remains an unasked question.

12. In 1965, Israel stole over 200-600 pounds of weapons-grade uranium from the United States.

13. Declassified documents from the former South African regime prove not only that Israel has had nuclear weapons for decades, but has tried to sell them to other countries!

14: No less a source than the Jerusalem Post confirms that Israel has armed their German-supplied Dolphin submarines with nuclear-tipped cruise missiles.

We all need to be Joe Wilson right now. We need to stand up and scream, “LIAR!” at every politician and every talking media moron that is pushing this war in Iran. And we need to keep doing it until they get the message that we will not be deceived any more.

Day 388: Current System is not Educating, Just Indoctrinating

I have watched with great interest a video by Federico Pistono called ‘Learning is for Life’, He is 25 and has the goal to reach 1 billion people through his Educational company, Esplori.

Federico Pistono is a social entrepreneur, author, scientific educator, lecturer, and aspiring filmmaker. He has written on science, technology, Internet communities, artificial intelligence, and climate change. He holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Verona, and completed the online course at Stanford on Machine Learning. In 2012 he graduated from Singularity University, NASA Ames Research Park, Silicon Valley, a special program whose aim is to solve humanity’s grand challenges by leveraging exponentially growing technologies. He speaks regularly at TEDx events, schools, companies, and symposia around the world.

Federico is not your average Italian boy, he could have been if he had believed that he was stupid and followed his teachers advise that he should quit school but he didn’t. It’s hard to resist the charme of the dinosaurs that came before us – not-, they tell us they know more about life, they say that they have experience and we should listen to them, yeah right, look at the world that they created, chapeau.

Young people out there may learn through trial and err and make many mistakes, but if they depart from the dinos of this world, maybe they won’t grow up as paranoid as them, as empty, as embittered.

A crucial role within this is played by mentors, Federico explained how people who believed in him and his potential granted him a chance to have a life that was not the one that was scripted for him as one born from a poor family and destined to fail.

Frankly he is an oddity within our education system, I know because kids nowadays study just to make their marks and ‘pass’, we, who hold the information, have failed to raise people who have both critical thinking abilities and enough curiosity to understand how everything works, because we taught them that THAT was not the purpose of learning.

This happened last week:

When a young British beautician realised relations between Russia and Ukraine were at crisis point, she decided to share her feelings on Twitter.

Without pausing to check her facts, or her spelling, Gemma Worrall, 20, wrote: ‘If barraco barner is our president, why is he getting involved with Russia, scary.’

Within hours, Miss Worrall, from Blackpool, was trending in countries around the world as her message was retweeted thousands of times.

Is this funny, really?

As teachers and mentors we failed, it is us who have lost the ability to extend our -useful- knowledge to others, we share the crap instead, we don’t bother to make sure to take the time to prevent the dumbing down of the young ones growing up in this system that is exactly designed to do that.

We are taught meaningless dates about wars, genocides, tragedies, all things that leave very little space to include solutions but are meant to put on our shoulders the guilt and the shame for the kind of humanity we have become – fucking useful, we need instead to see solutions, if you are a failed mentor and realize you have nothing to give to the young ones that is of value, then keep your crap to yourself and deal with it – and move out-of-the-way of those that are inspired and inspiring to make a change and believe that a change is possible -against all odds.

We shouldn’t have kids banned from class because they dare to challenge the authority of the teacher, a teacher is only as good as their teaching, a mentor only as good as their mentoring, a dino is only as good as – no a dino is a mistake in creation, that’s why we got rid of them – and did not miss them one bit either.

Today in the news a boy has been excluded from lessons for leading 100 boys in protests over concerns about the standard of the teaching in his school.

The key for us to get out from where we are will be Education, it will have to be given with compassion and humbly, especially by those who have walked the planet longer, having been here longer and having the world still in this state is not a monument to our effectiveness or something to be proud of, so we better hear the message of Federico, understand how we affect other people’s lives, the responsibility of our words and then thread with care on the minds of those who are still searching to get out of the maze, we can open up avenues or load up another truckload of crap into their minds, if we really care about our future we’ll do whatever it takes to realign ourselves to a supportive communication understanding that words are nails and even when we take them back, or try to, they have left a mark.

Let’s mark the children and youth of this world with the assurance that together we can make it, that we stand by them and not against them, that we give up looking down at them with contempt to feel good about ourselves, because we are responsible for the state of this world and if it shall change, we shall be the one telling the young ones how we can do it and not ever, that they are dumb fuckers that are hopeless and will never amount to anything, no matter how hard they try.

If you can, if you have it in you, mentor someone with an open heart, choose supportive words, show them that many of the things we learned are flawed, help them to break free from their accepted limitations, one of them is the idea that we have to work ‘to make a living’, Federico got that through the help of masterful, inspiring mentors, someone managed to align him to what would be best for all and let him know that Life is price-less and should not have a price-tag, we can extend this message to others, standing together for Life as One Life, One World that works for All.

Check out a living income guaranteed, Life can be supported or destroyed, it’s our choice, make your own for a different world, where we can honour each other and the Life of every living being.

Day 386: David, Thou Shall Only Embrace Beretta Guns

The Italian Minister of Culture said he is outraged by the advertisement of a weapon in the hand of Michelangelo’s David.

“The image of David, armed, offends and infringes the law. We will take action against the American company so that it immediately withdraws its (advertising) campaign,” Culture Minister Dario Franceschini tweeted (translation per the AFP).

And the Historical Heritage and Fine Arts Board curator Cristina Acidini has issued a “legal notice” to the company demanding that it withdraw the ad.

Mind you, the ad is not offensive for its content, putting a weapon even in the arms of a statue today cannot offend anyone, specifically because Italy is the 7th World exporter of Arms and the proud manufacturer of a designer brand all of its own, Beretta, the world’s oldest gun manufacturer – working to create weapons to kill since 1526 through 16 generations -and THAT is something to be proud of.

Beretta is known for its broad range of firearms: side-by-side shotguns, over-and-under shotguns, hunting rifles, express rifles, assault rifles, submachine guns, lever and bolt-action rifles, single and double action revolvers and semi-automatic pistols. The parent company, Beretta Holding, also owns Beretta USA, Benelli, Franchi, SAKO, Stoeger, Tikka, Uberti, and the Burris Optics company.

The model Beretta 92FS is the primary side arm of the United States Army, Marine Corps and Air Force, designated the M9 pistol. In 1985, Beretta was chosen after a controversial competition to produce the M9, winning a contract for 500,000 pistols. A condition of the original agreement was domestic fabrication of the M9.

When Beretta took 45 millions out of Italy to invest it in the USA economy, no one was offended, there is no problem with weapons manufacturing in the world, those industries enjoy the largest freedom of movement and the maximum freedom to corrupt, here is a graphic depiction of how this business is handled – and we know it!- and how the Fifth influent research institute in the world, Stockholm International Peace Research Institute – SIPRI, exists just to collect data to conceal, making sure the extent of the industry and its criminal activities are kept under seal (visit their site and check how easy it is to put together all the information and what transparency is NOT), instead of being the solution provider to this abomination that is war and this unstoppable thirst we seem to have to kill each other – that would be a surely required change to turn around the industry through transparency and accountability, accepting nothing less that a steady plan to demilitarize the world that would have to be kept in place ’til we are over and done with.

According to SIPRI, in the year 2012 Italy’s military expenditure was in the region of  34,004,000,000 USD, considering that we don’t even have a conscripting  military service but only Peace Missions, in alignment with our Constitution that prohibits any offensive action toward any country in the world (but as someone wrote in 2008 ‘Berlusconi has begun to talk about modifying the Italian Constitution, so the non-offense part of the Constitution can be changed just as easily‘), meaning, whoever is in power, we are working on disentangling ourselves from the hideous restriction to not go on offense missions, which we could now easily do by creating new job opportunities in the military industry, in a country devastated first by austerity and then by unemployment – wait, it’s occurring to me that this is NOT a new idea ….), it’s a baffling number, what do we buy for that sum in the pursuit of a peace in which we are NOT succeeding?

We lament that we do not have the money for a LIVING income for ALL, those who have it in their political program are made fun of and pushed aside in every possible way from the possibility of approaching the legislative panel (see Movement  5 Star), even though taking people out of undignified lives and the choices that go with it, would be the least we can do and, in Italy, that money alone could give 1500 euro to 22,000,000 people or 2000 euro to 17,000,000, without any loss, got that?
No one would lose without weapons industries, because creating arms is the consequential outflow of a fear/ greed based society and of a neocolonial mentality, where we need to go on offence missions to steal other countries resources so we won’t have to question the un-sustainability of the lives we live  – furthermore those that would lose their jobs in the war games would be caught by the living income guaranteed safety net that we plan to extend to all those that need it.
Win win win.

Of course, creating a living income guaranteed will mean that we would have to rethink our economic system as a whole, it would be impossible to give a ‘living income’ that is above the minimum wage, which in Italy at the moment can range to anything from 600 euro to 1000 euro and does NOT in any way guarantee a dignified living to working folks, hence making working less profitable than not-working would imply that wages for working people will have to be adjusted to at least double the living income to make working interesting and that would mean companies and corporations would have to work to make the jobs they offer appealing and would become less profitable, yes, true, so what?

Profit at the top in the face of misery at the bottom should be a crime, the only reason why it’s not is because our legal system has been hijacked by private interests and our common sense has given way to the liberal free market sense of profitability over Life, which in no way means that we cannot turn things around, we’ll just need a little patience to explain to people who going to war to make a very minute group of owners of ì weapons manufacturing industries filthy rich is insane, the fact that it’s legal makes it even more questionable and shows it’s high time to take back democracy for real through direct participation, to turn it into something that works for all vs this mockery of Freedom without ‘substance’, aka money, to live.

If we lived in a just world no one would have the need to defend themselves or their property, if everyone was given the means to live, we could have peace and, honestly, turning the money of the weapons industry into money for support and development of all of humanity is really a no brainer.

Oh, and I almost forgot to tell the end of David’s story, we are not offended because it’s a crime to associate something as ugly as arms meant to kill to works of art meant to show the sublime potential of human creativity, nope, we are offended because David’s image belongs to us – and if anyone is going to put a weapon in his arm, it shall be Beretta -and not those image-thieving scoundrels of ArmaLite Inc.  Makes sense?

The superintendent of the State Museums of Florence, Cristina Acidini, elaborated on Franceschini’s comment, explaining that the image of David is copyrighted to Italy and can’t be used without permission.

Get a Life for yourself and All of humanity, stand for a living income guaranteed,
work for Life not for Death, it’s about time.

Day 385: Who are our Governments representing?

government solutions- living income guaranteed- BIG- basic income

In theory our governments are made of people, who have been appointed by us, to bring into being what We The People, who are supposed to participate in the drafting and the decision-making process in matters that influence our lives, like public policies -on public resources just to name one- or on how to manage the system as a whole in a way that works for all, have come to an agreement about.

It would be way too simplistic to state that our Governments are now representing only greedy corporations, even though there is truth in this statement, the terrible truth is how much they represent Us, as in a representation of who we are and what we have become.

The only difference between ourselves and our governments is that they have way more access than we do to make decisions that benefit only themselves and way more impact on the consequences of such choices, we are witnessing the EGOcentric truth of ourselves on a blown up screen we call The Government.

So, when we take to the streets and demand ‘their change’, it would be like shouting to a movie screen to change the plot, without understanding that the course has been set in motion, edited and now it’s just shown to us as the end result of years of accumulated consequences in EGOcentric policy making, while we were missing in action.

So, how can we, how do we change this Representation of ourselves, how do we change the image in the big mirror that this world is, what steps can we take that will ensure a change from the bottom to the top?

In my opinion we can take the example of the much criticized 5 Star movement in Italy, these are ordinary citizens who have put their own lives on hold because they realized that a systemic change was required and humbly -and sometimes boldly- they did not take to the streets, they organized, drafted policies for education, public spending, renewable energies, for a basic income grant, looking at the system and where changes were required and writing solutions to be voted in Parliament.

When they entered Parliament in quite an important representation in numbers, they decided to not ally with anyone, to not trust anyone on sealed law packages that would have to be voted on trust, meaning without opening the parcel and looking inside, instead to vote on a law by law case, looking at every single facet of what policy making implied and how they would have to become educated in the ways of the system to make a change.

So far they have managed 2 -apparent- important changes, the ousting of Berlusconi from Parliament after the third degree of judgement that found him guilty with no more possibility of appeal and the opening of a fund for small and medium enterprises using the party financing money they refused to take.

Why do I call these 2 changes just apparently important?

Well, because, as I said, they are very unripe in the ways of the system, they vowed to uphold a morality standard that the system is foreign to and as a result they have been unable to make real changes, they have just skimmed the surface and what they have done that resonated like a great success, which was finally kicking Berlusconi out of Parliament, was just a point where in truth they have been strumentalized by the system who wanted Berlusconi out in the first place for reasons that have nothing to do with upholding the Law and gave them the badge of honour for this perceived victory, a little treat and a clever device for those who were really behind the scenes that wouldn’t have to explain why a man who has been doing illegal stuff for over 20 years was made to pay so publicly for -by comparison to his previous endeavours such a small misdemeanor.

I want to be clear that I voted for the 5 Star movement simply because the other choices were too appaling to even consider and who wouldn’t want to be on the train for Change, but in watching them trying to hold on to the purity of their intent one has to wonder why we don’t accept this system as it is and move within it with ease vs moving within it puking our way through every single process that is required to be walked for real change.

Is the Movement 5 Star, the righteous vegan choice in politics? The way how we hope to feel good because ‘we are not like the other scoundrels – look at us- the immaculate conception, we will never get our hands dirty with the rest of them, we are above them, beyond them’.

The problem is we can’t be above the system, pretend to be, believe to be and change it, it’s impossible, we can’t even be beyond the system as we profess because the system is here and is not going away anytime soon unless we, The People, redirect each aspect of it to a solution.

So, the point I want to make is that it is all good and dandy to write down ‘the perfect system’ and then try to jump there from where we are, but it’s proving to be impossible, because each one of us is The System and when we jump beyond it, we are taking one piece away from in front of the mirror to move beyond it and then we ask the mirror to  change saying ‘look, I have moved beyond, now show me a different picture, a different representation’, and what will be shown to us is then the whole Representation Minus ourselves, obvious no?

This is exactly what is happening to the Movement 5 Star, we are so beyond that we are no longer in the picture, and I beg to know, how do we change it from outside of it, how do we support a sustainable money less economy without addressing the money point like Zeigeist proposes, do we take out our magic Venus Wands and make that one point disappear? That is impossible, we can’t HarryPotter our way through this system, using our nymbus 2000 broom to zigzag from one thing we don’t like to another and as we touch them within our reasoning have them disappear, if that worked we would have solved most of our problems because we have for some time had alternative think tanks to work out solutions to the problems we face but no matter how great ‘thinking’ we have done about solutions, unless we take this ‘thinking’ into the tank that this physical reality is and act on it, nothing will ever change.

All of us standing in front of the mirror will have to first realign privately our own policy making and priorities into solutions that work for all, we have to remove our fear of our own systems, we have to look inside to see how we privately handle money, knowledge, relationships with others, where are our own personal points of abuse and correct ourselves, make new policies to abide to that can be reflected by the collective mirror as solutions.

At the next elections I will still vote for the Movement 5 Star, we have no other choice here in Italy at the moment because trust cannot be given to the ones who have a proven track record of being untrustworthy, but at the same time I am correcting myself because I want to see this correction in the Movement of a Group that I belong to, where we realize that we can be the change and then we can show to others who are involved in policy making, without calling them names or having speeches in Parliament only meant to project the blame and shame on them for where we are, recognizing that we could have never been where we are without our own equal participation or lack of it and as such, taking the time to explain, to share, why doing things differently would be better, best in fact, because only when we recognize the right to a life, the right to a living, will we have our right to life and living recognized, honoured and supported and we can walk there together, beyond our previous mis-under-standings we can stand together for a different future and then the governing of ourselves, the governing of our Minds, our own Government will shine through, there needn’t be violence to change the man in the mirror, we just need the willingness to change and then walk the steps of change, the man in the mirror will be happy to comply, the power was never in the mirror but in ourselves and it’s time to bring it back to each one of us, so we can change ourselves and the world with us.

Consider one of the first step required will be to recognize the Value of Life for all, we have drafted a program, it’s called A Living Income Guaranteed, because Life can be given to All by our determination to do so, it just requires to admit that we have tied Life to Money and that we designed a system that doesn’t provide access to Life through Money to All and correct that point – immediately, so stand up as the change, as one who decides to give to all and make life for-giving and not for-getting to include everyone in the equation without leaving anyone behind.

Join the Change, be the change as part of the Living Income Guaranteed Movement, spread the word, participate, make this project your own for yourself and the World as One.

Day 384: Italy wins Oscar for Best Foreign Movie

Italy won the Oscar for best Foreign Movie this year with the film ‘The Great Beauty’.

As one of our journalists wrote, it is the perfect prize because this movie is Foreign to most of us in Italy as well, it was a movie clearly made to get a prize, a lot of great images about Rome, by night mainly, mostly things of the past, masterpieces as statues or paintings that lie dormant in houses that are closed to the public and that only the chosen few have access to, even though they are not even interested in them. One point highly driven home was the ‘exclusivity of this world’.

All the characters and images were crafted to impress, I found them not really interesting but fakely interesting, people who felt cheated out of life and its promises and pretended all was well and dandy while cruising from one party to another, from alcohol to drugs and sex, living the lives that are only fulfilling in our implanted imaginations but, was clearly shown, were not, the main point I was left with was this hollowness that no one could fill and maybe the only honest person in the movie is the son of a very rich family who can’t cope with all the delusions and deceptions and one day takes his life. This is when the main character explains how a funeral is in fact an audition and what are the proper moves to make at a funeral to be noted.

Some of our Regime newspapers (did you know we no longer have a democracy? Our last 3 Prime Ministers were put there by a series of unthinkable events all with the blessing of our unlawful President, elected twice even though our constitution forbids it) talked about this movie as a movie that finally didn’t talk about the sad side of life or tried to give a social message – who wants to be bothered by these-, no, this movie was light, depicting our excellence and everything we are great and recognized for.

I wondered what the Academy saw in this movie that we failed to see, the movie run on prime TV thanks to Berlusconi the Producer, one of his many hats, a few people I know switched off after 20 minutes, obviously the movie was not meant to be a crowd pleaser but an intellectual Elite pleaser, to me we looked like a bunch of image obsessed retards with exceptionally empty lives, this was even more evident when told through the lives of those  filled with money that  didn’t manage to buy the elusive happiness they believed would be in their reach and kept chasing it without success.

It is true, lately our movies are all about migrants and the cultural cross problems we face or about austerity and how hard it is to live today for all, either in the form of comedy or tragedy but like at the time of neo realism, when movie makers had started to use the means of the movie to tell the truth about what was going on, movie makers are discouraged firstly and then told clearly that no one wants to see ‘that Italy‘, we have to instead paint our beauty to lure foreigners here and sell them a lifestyle we ourselves don’t live – but have heard about or watched in those propaganda movies.

Ironically one could have found relief to see that even the rich don’t have it good, instead I felt a sadness seeing what we have become, it is not the money we have that defines us, this was very clear in this movie, it is what we are, what we have worked to become, what we have stood up to embrace, what we have done and not done to change this world and make it work for all.

There is no Great Beauty in this world, the message was there, it was clear, every character was someone else except for The Saint and how was she depicted? As someone who embraced Poverty, she lived poverty and that is what made her special, so the message is if you want to be Good stay Poor – and you will be able to talk to birds and know their baptism name (?), but that is not a solution to what we live, tonight on the News they talked about Eddy, who killed himself because he could not face having to watch his wife as she kneeled down begging the Labour Police to not close their Pizza shop within 24 hours, because they could not come up with 2000 euro to pay a fine. Eddy didn’t see The Great Beauty in poverty, he saw the fear, the worry and then the shame of watching his wife on her knees begging and then he thought he just had enough and checked out. How many more people do we want to sacrifice to this system that we created and that doesn’t support the lives of those who could not make an ‘Image‘ big enough for themselves to be counted?

There would be a way to right the wrong we have done so far, it would be to stop all deception about Money, yes it doesn’t buy you happiness, maybe the secret message of this movie was this, don’t envy the rich, they are as fucked as you, and this is possibly true, but they are fucked with food in their plates and a roof over their heads and many choices about their healthcare and the education of their children, so if the movie was about dismissing wealth as the source of happiness we can agree, but we can’t dismiss Poverty equally as the source of Misery – and for that Misery we can do something, we can give to every living being enough to live, recognize their right to Life and once all of us will be fed, housed and clothed we’ll have time to look at our minds and right what’s wrong up there, because safe and sound minds would not have created a world such as this or excuses called Beauty to justify the Ugly we don’t want to look at and correct once and for all.

A living income guaranteed can sort out those wrongs and give a dignified living to All, get informed, get involved, see The Great Beauty of this solution and stand for Life as All, as One.
