Day 428: Are the Pitchforks Coming for the Plutocrats?

I have read a very interesting article by Nick Hanauer, the multibillionaire that has already been exposing the lie of ‘The Job Creators’ during a TED talk that became banned.

This is an extract from his great talk:

Anyone who says that rich people create jobs is lying – rich people don’t create jobs more than a squirrel created evolution. There have never been so much rich people as it is today. If rich people created jobs we would be drowning in jobs now.

Money doesn’t trickle down from the rich to the poor either, you just have to look at the world today and see that this isn’t true. The stock exchanges making more money than ever and we are only getting more and more poor people.

Funny how it sounds truer when spoken by one of the 1%ers, like in many other things, we give some the authority to make common sense claims and vow to only believe those that have acquired a patent for speaking up through, go figure, some system means, be it money or education. We authorize those that were system indoctrinated to promote ideas and beliefs about why things are the way they are and ask them advises on how to change them  – we are strange, clueless creatures so far.

Here is his latest article entitled

This guy is wide awake, I like the way he looks at Capitalism specifically because he loves Capitalism and yet he is able to see its many faults, that could be corrected by amending the starting point, by deciding that all must benefit and that, the whole benefiting, will benefit the few up on top way more than the trickle down fantasy that has not benefited the ones at the bottom -at all.

The ones at the top can count on the ones at the bottom spending money when they have it buying up products of the very corporations they own, while the opposite showed to not be true, people who are richer are not benefiting the economy more in proportion, they can’t buy 10000 pillows because they are richer, or 5000 cars, there is a limit to their ability to spend, which is not the case for the, currently, poor/poorer ones.
Those are the ones that could really boost an economy up.

Among the comments in his You tube video which was originally longer, here is one that struck me

‘This guy has the balls to show an earth centric solar system then starts his argument in the same fashion stating that the consumer is the center of job creation. The fact is, without the entrepreneur, without the loan or capital of the rich or those with savings, VC’s, without initial jobs created, and consumables consumers want already available does the consumer then even enter the equation. This guy is an idiot, and as proof I offer this: If the rich don’t create jobs, it’s only the demand for the product, why don’t time machines exist? I would love a time machine, and so would most consumers. If demand is the key to job creation, time machines and the associated jobs would surely exist, but guess what, they don’t because demand doesn’t create shit but fools. Jobs are initially created by entrepreneurs and capital from the rich. They bear all the burden of failure, the consumer risks nothing. This guy is a disgrace to TED and intelligent life in general.

mainly it struck me because the argument made is not valid at all but proves what Nick Hanauer just said, demand creates jobs, if we have not created a time machine is because those that really wanted one may already have it, who knows all the technological advancement that the public has not been made a part of because those with the loot wanted the benefits only for themselves? Wouldn’t you have done the same in their position? How do you protect what has been stolen from the whole to make it just yours, if you don’t make sure to always have an advantage on the rest of the pack?

Plus it proves that demand is there for bare, basic necessities, like a gas cooker, a washing machine, things that for some have already moved into the realm of the obvious, while they are not at all in a world where 2.5 billions don’t even have access to sanitation. Those people are not dreaming about a time machine, hello??

So, many of the comments of those that use any theory, model, philosophy and means to justify why some are entitled to way more than they need, while some have to go without the bare necessities, are part of the advantage I just spoke about, come on, wouldn’t you have meddled with education as well to raise a world of dumbed down, compliant people who believe what they are told no matter what common sense would state – how did we come to believe we had no rights of any sort to a Life otherwise?

Nick Hanauer said that he can see the pitchforks coming, he said as well that he was always an astute business man who could see how the future unfolds, I believe him, so my question would be, how come the other trickle-downers don’t see that coming?

What do they expect, that people will allow them to take away every one of their human rights, including the one to live and just roll over and die? Some will, those deeply lost in the master-slave construct might -but many won’t.

And for the ones versed in mathematics, we can easily figure out why the 1%ers are so afraid, they could be outnumbered without much effort and when those that are paid to protect them, the very buffer they had allowed into existence, the middle class, will disappear completely, their asses will be up for grabs and unhappy people can be mobilized with the stroke of a hand, they can in fact even be manipulated into revolutions just for a change up at the top (think Ukraine), has this not been done before?

Revolutions are not played out by calm rational people, they are the result of the stroke that broke the camel’s back, those on top have isolated themselves so much that they have lost the pulse of the situation, they can no longer feel the revolution’s breath on their necks and have erroneously taken signals like Occupy Wall Street and other manifestation of Public Outrage as transitory, as something that comes and goes and that will go away if they stay united and keep on not paying any attention to it.
Wrong, as Nick Hanauer said, if they keep not paying attention the whole game will blow up in their face and they won’t have seen it coming – if that is imaginable.

This specific point shows the disconnection between the top and the bottom, it shows as well why many who are reliant on the top ‘doing the right thing’ are in for a rude awakening – the right thing for the top is MORE for them, the $$$ bubble in which they have isolated themselves puts them at great risk for their lives, which is another reason why they don’t let go even one inch of the advantage they have on the rest, that space is their life insurance policy, the more the fear grows, the bigger the money buffer they will try to create for themselves.

We have more chances than those on top to see what is coming and how to prevent it, revolutions are hard to stop once they start because they become the excuse, the cesspool in which everyone can convey their life frustrations and justify the crimes resulting from it.

What we need to do is get together and design a better living condition for all, look at the case of raising the minimum wage to 15$/hour, as Nick Hanauer said, it boosted the economy of the cities who embraced this change, instead of fighting it, almost overnight.

So, what is it going to be? A revolution or a war to distract us from the revolution – what would be your pick?

None of the above is a good choice, imagine the suffering we would have to face just for the satisfaction of kicking some asses in the first case or to fight a war we can’t understand that turns into another money-making opportunity for the rich, stuck between a rock and a hard place.

If you can see both the need for change and the unnecessary damage a revolution or a war would bring us all, consider another alternative, like redesigning our economics models, introducing a model where everyone wins (it’s this or the pitchforks? – note to the One Percenters), where we defuse the anger by giving to each other without coercion what we need to live a dignified life, a new inclusive model where all parts and their needs are taken into account, consider how Life could be for All with a Living Income Guaranteed, it means we grant a Living, a Life to All, not a scrawny, pathetic survivalist life, no, a Dignified Life, we make sure everyone can expand their access to choice, to Life itself and in one go, as we come together, the pitchforks will be put down to rebuild a world we can be proud of.

Day 397: Italian Police says DIY WarTanks are not legit

The Veneto region, centered on Venice, helped transform Italy into an industrial power in the 1960s and 1970s. The community of small, family-run businesses that had been the backbone of the region’s success have been hit particularly hard by the economic crisis. Secessionist sentiment is rooted in anger that vast sums of money are appropriated by Rome in the form of taxes.

The movement for an independent Venice gained momentum two weeks ago when a ‘referendum’ found an overwhelming majority of participants were in favour of breaking away.

Inspired by Scotland’s separatist ambitions, 89 per cent of the residents of the lagoon city and its surrounding area, opted for the ‘Repubblica Veneta’ which would include the five million inhabitants of the Veneto region and could later expand to include parts of Lombardy, Trentino and Friuli-Venezia Giulia. The poll is not recognised by the Rome government.
“We call on the Venetians and all those who can no longer bear the intolerable oppression of the central state to fly the flag of St. Mark from their homes to show their solidarity with the Venetians and Lombards who have been unjustly imprisoned,” Northern League Senate leader Massimo Bitonci said.

How many times does one hear of a home-made tank?

This is the second time in Italy that Venetian separatists try a take over of San Marco Square to raise awareness of the grim condition they verse in, since the 1990s. Almost 25 years have gone by and nothing changed, if anything their situation has become worse. All articles that I read spoke of the desire of the ‘wealthy region’ to separate, they should have said ‘the once wealthy’ because now it’s the shadow of its former self -hence the tank – wealthy, comfortable people don’t get this kind of ideas in their heads.

Today on the news I heard that the Central Bank of Europe is willing to lend a truckload of millions to Italy to put liquidity back in our suffering society, this is a terrible news, taking loans that can never be repaid by design is not wise, hoping that new liquidity will push banks to lend to micro and medium enterprises is wishful thinking, since the last time they got a loan they used it to play on the markets and kept saying no to lending. Liquidity has not reduced austerity before and it will not now, it will just fatten up the banks a little more – as if we needed that.

We are, broke, unemployed and with people building tanks in the privacy of their homes, quite a telling moment in time I would say, even more if we see that those are not isolated incidents -well, the tank might be, quite far out- but the desire to take revenge on those at the top is quite widespread in our society, it seems a bit odd that we want to take revenge on those that have done what everyone born in this fear filled world driven by survival would have done in their position, try to take advantage of the situation and then who knows, one benefit creates the desire for another until greed takes over and some feel justified to take the whole world for themselves -because they can

And yet, we, the majority of the people, divided by all sorts of ideas, religions and opinions, have failed so far to come together for a solution that could start with drawing a HUGE line to what some can amass in the face of many starving and that line should have always been that, before any game takes place, name it Wall Street, Banking or golfing, everyone should be guaranteed a living, not asked to EARN it, because if people keep removing liquidity from the system to stash it in the Cayman islands or other fiscal paradises, it is obvious that, since the wealth circulating in the form of money is LIMITED, some and then many would have to go without the bare necessities – and there would no longer be chances for earning a living as companies shut down due to lack of funding and credit.

So, I suggest that, building tanks at home is not only silly but pointless, ok, now we have a tank, then what, what is the next step on this very intelligent plan? Take over St. Marco square, yes, we got it until step 2, now we have a tank and St Marco’s square, while we still have 12 % unemployment in total that touches the youth at 50%, we still have 10 million people living in poverty and many more on the way there that can’t make it to the end of the month; having a tank in St Marco’s square is not step 2 of a spell that can be followed by an avra cadavra with our little wand and then everyone is fine, very likely instead the people responsible for such a poorly thought out plan would be taken to jail and judged as traitors mining the safety of the Republic (25 venetians have been arrested already – awaiting trial) and it would not lead to a ‘then they will listen to us’, as some said – they who?

If we can say something about this system which we created in our image and likeness, is the total lack of accountability, this is the purpose of corporations – to have faceless entities running all sectors of our society, yes, they claimed the state of personhood for themselves but they are not accountable in any way, a bit like ourselves, laws upon laws are written to rid every business entity of their accountability, so who would we ‘threaten’ once sitting on the tank in St. Marco’s square?

I believe it is time to become smart, in this we cannot come up with plans that call for violence or revolutions since they never worked, we can’t even do what Occupy Wall Street did, isn’t it a revelation the fact that it failed and brought no practical solution at all? As well-meaning as they were, OWS did not have a plan, they didn’t ask anything specific but for the abuse to end – the how was not written or laid our clearly and whatdoyouknow, some corporations can claim they don’t see leaving people in abject poverty to make money as abuse, it’s just a business practice, hence what is admissible should be very clearly written down and what is required to be given as a Human Right should be spelled out in a way that all can understand and agree to – legalese will be out this time -.
No one was born clearly seeing that everyone’s basic human rights were never recognized, we have instead been indoctrinated into a hierarchical system of Queens and Kings, either by name or wealth, where we accepted that some lives are worth more than others, we thought that having to struggle for a living was ‘normal’ and this is how we came to wanting to fight back, failing to see that in the fighting back there is an abused and an abuser and not 2 parties equally responsible.

We have written a plan, it’s called a living income guaranteed, it lays out the bare minimum that must be recognized to every living being, the right to a dignified living, that includes housing, access to sanitation, access to education, healthcare, the right to our own minds -we understand that the human is programmable and unfortunately we vacated our minds leaving the keys to those that wanted to fill them with desires and dreams that make us nothing so that we can buy stuff to become something, what a cool plan, we claim as well the right to real information to be able to make informed decisions, in alignment with what we can see would work for all and not just for some.

If you understand that building a tank at home is NOT a solution, nor is violence or desire to take revenge on those that did nothing more than what we would have done in their place, read through the #livingincomeguaranteed proposal, consider that we need a plan, consider that this is a plan, the best we could do so far considering all points of awareness in existence at the moment and then join it, be counted as one point of Change, there is the need for a wave powerful enough to break the damn-ation we find ourselves in.

Be a part of it.

Day 318: Are you BIG Enough for B.I.G. ?

Image

We have set up a new website to explain our proposal for a Basic Income Grant that shall benefit All Humanity.

It’s hard to take all parts of a faulty system into consideration when writing a proposal that can find the widest acceptance, but it’s not impossible.

For the time being it would be enough if we could marry the 2 mainstream currents of this world, one runs on Greed and one runs on Desperation.

The Greedy are the ones best off, with Money you have access to the full Range of Human Rights that have become optional for most, isn’t it funny how we are going topsy turvy in this world, we are fitting cars with full options some of which are even useless unless we buy into the belief that we need them (The Subaru XV’s fabric seats come with a pair of switches to heat them) while we deprive human beings of basic human rights in the name of Profit and Greed.

And as enlightened as we claim to be, we are not even noticing, we are celebrating our progress and our ability to access the ‘moreness’ of technology and the wonderment of ever more stupid entertainments while we willingly give up our rights, including the right to Life, which for most has become a dream, so while some dream of the ‘more options’ they could have if they could put their hand on some more cash, some are left dreaming if they will ever be able to have a life at all, to feed their children and put a roof over their heads, we are still the proud creators of slavery, abuse, exploitation, wars all in the name of an imaginary and mostly unattainable ‘moreness’ in the face of a ‘Hereness’ that is becoming more and more elusive and that we ended up believing to be just an illusion.

If you support a Basic Income Grant you are hopefully looking for ways to make it come true, unless it’s just another pipe dream, a bandwagon to jump on to show we are interested in the world and in the fate of the many suffering unbearable lives that show no sign in sight of being on the way to improve.

If you support a Basic Income Grant for the purpose of relieving the suffering of those that don’t have a Life at all it -and not just yours, so you can be able to finally afford an exotic holiday- it would be sane to consider HOW we are going to bring this into reality within the way this system is set up and not within an imaginary system through an unfounded ideology.

We live in a Capitalistic Model, every year we raise new waves of dumb economists, that will justify to their grave why this is the best system we can come up with, and an education system that starts with parenting that has found millions of excuses to explain away the otherwise unexplainable point of Inequality as if it was justifiable just because it’s here and has always been, so it will take a lot of effort to break through the programming we have been submitted to and then later submitted ourselves to, in order to see that we don’t have to live this way, unless we keep choosing it either by our refusal to see real solutions or by our refusal to consider that we actually hold the power to change it all if we stop believing that we don’t.

Within this model, the one we live in, the amount of money in circulation is finite, yes, there would be solutions to solve this point as well but for the time being this is the model we have to work with, which means that to allow B.I.G. to become a reality we’ll have to reshuffle the cards around and either rewrite our public spending and prioritize our shopping lists  for example putting food for all BEFORE our demented need to fund the purchase of nuclear weapons or other destructive toys that we don’t seem to get enough of, and this alone will damage some, such as those that are making money through faceless corporations in those kind of businesses, hence the idea that the rich will not lose anything if we implement a basic income grant, whose funding must come from somewhere, is just another example of disconnection from reality that needs a reality check, because the rich won’t be convinced to give up millions in profit by being given 1500 or 2000 euro a month (hello??), but they may see the possibility of their businesses thriving even more when everyone will have more money to spend and invest in this economic model which is now to the benefit of just some and even be willing to extend the cash to all since they own the system and we can’t go shopping on another planet for now, so what they will gain from is in the future if they are willing to give back something now to allow this economic model to flow again, until we come up with another one that works for all, for real.

So, if you support a Basic Income Grant, please, read the blogs we are writing where we offer practical solutions to make this a reality, clear your mind, breathe, see the common sense about how B.I.G should start, which means by benefiting those that don’t have enough to live first and foremost and from there walk the steps required in your mind to close the gap between an ideology and a real proposal, so as to not turn big in another Occupy Wall Street, from where we will just be kicked out with no regret without leaving a mark of any kind, instead Occupy Your Mind with Common Sense, see why we should walk those steps the way we propose, participate, bring to the table other proposals if you see a point in a way that is clearer and more doable or let this go, it’s possible that you are not BIG enough for B.I.G., maybe you have not yet self realized the point of Response-Ability we have in and as members of this world, maybe you are kid-ding yourself and others, maybe you are having a temper tantrum about the idea that you may not come in first along with those that have bigger needs than yours, such as the need to have a Life, and that may be possible because we have 1 billion people who are starving and close to 3 billion living below the poverty line. Are you one of those? If so you will be attended to unconditionally as soon as BIG will be implemented, if you are one of those that own a home, already make a living, although not as good as you would like it, then you may have to wait in line because BIG will be the reverse line from the ones this system has sold to us so far, serving those on a ‘need bases’ first and then those on a ‘want basis’ second, is this something you can handle?

If not then there are other games to play out there that won’t damage this proposal in the eyes of those that have a firmer grip on reality than the BIG Dreamers who have lost contact with it and with the solutions that could come out of it if we walked together a path of making a dignified life for All a priority and something real within our lifetime.

Once we implement BIG and understand the power we hold, nothing will stop us from creating a world that works for all and make it so solid that it may never revert back to this monstruosity we created so far and that we fight to keep going for future generations to ‘enjoy’.

Join us, B.I.G. is Here, how BIG are you?
